Our fabulous evening with Greg and the team at Zahira
They say it’s all in the name and bar the missing H on the end, I’d like to think that Zahira has it all.
Andrew and I were hosted by the wonderful team at The H Hotel and were privileged to be in on a night when Celebrity chef, Greg Malouf was in the kitchen and on the restaurant floor. Having visited a previous concept that had his hand in the kitchen, Zahira seemed to be that notch above, offering exceptional flavors, a fabulous food and very hearty experience.
Zahira is a modern Middle Eastern restaurant and lounge, that offers a generous sharing menu created by the award winning Chef Greg Malouf.
An Aussie like Andrew, we loved chatting about food and eateries in Melbourne and around the world with Greg – a Chef we’d followed for some time. I wouldn’t go as far as to say we are big foodies, but Andrew and I do our homework on dining and food when traveling, and make extra effort to visit a few of the hot posts wherever we go.
Our dinner experience at Zahira was impressive. We ordered a selection of appetizers and mains to get a good feel for the menu, and had Greg recommend a traditional Arabic dessert.
Favorite dish? The duck main – a light and perfectly baked pastry, filled with the most beautifully cooked duck and dusted with a icing sugar for the perfect sweet-savory flavor.
Apart from having great taste is the name, the tastes created by Greg and the team at Zahira are equally fabulous.
